Set in about 3,100 acres of countryside, Rutland Water is a reservoir in the county of Rutland England, on the east side of the county town of Oakham.
Barnsdale View is on the A606 between the market towns of Oakham and Stamford.
The deer in this painting are fallow deer and come from Burley Wood which is on the opposite side of the main A606.
Burley House sits high on Burley on the Hill to the right of ths painting overlooking Rutland Water and was built in the 1690s.
