The High Street in Exton, as seen in this painting is on the west side of the village, close to Exton Park.
At the top of this view, on the right side of us, is the water pump, and the road that goes to right leads past 'The Old Doctors Surgery' onto Pudding Bag Lane, and up to Exton Park, were there are bridle ways and footpaths across beautiful parkland to be enjoyed by all.
This view leads us down through to the Exton Village Green and charming stone built thatched cottages and the Fox and Hounds.
The Parish Church of St Peter & Pauls, further on past the village green, dates back to the 13th century. In the 1850's the Parish Church was almost destroyed by a lightening strike and was more or less rebuilt.
