Original Painting - Pudding Bag Lane - Exton: SOLD
The village of Exton is in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands of the United Kingdom.
Pudding Bag Lane is on the west side of the village close to Exton Park. There are some very picturesque cottages in Exton and the Fox and Hounds Pub surrounds a very attractive village green.
Exton Park is a country estate and the present Exton Hall dates back to the 19th century. The original Exton Hall was a Tudor mansion that burnt down in 1810.
We have a Parish Church at Exton that dates back to the 13th century. The Church was almost destroyed in the mid 1850s following a lightning strike and was more or less rebuilt.
There is a mock gothic fishing folly in Exton Park built in the late 1780s and there are two attractive lakes at Fort Henry.
Rutland Water, one of the largest reservoirs in Europe, is to the South of the parish of Exton.
